For real peaceful revolution sign up here: https://www.flippable.org/our-plan/ The 2016 election left us not only with a Trump Presidency and Republican control of the U.S. House and Senate, but with Republican control of our states - 33 governor’s seats and 71 legislative bodies. Since 2010, the GOP has seized control of our state governments, restricting our rights and stacking the electoral deck in their favor through redistricting and voter suppression laws. Our plan is to take our country back from the ground up by by focusing on state governments. We will build a community of progressives committed to flipping state seats and organizing their communities in defense of progress. We’ll give you data on the most flippable seats and provide meaningful actions to win, through spreading awareness, volunteering, and donating. 2017 In 2017, we’ll focus on three states: Virginia will be electing a new governor and holding elections for all 100 seats in its state house. Virginia’s state house is nearly ? Republican - but the state has voted blue in the past three Presidential elections. By encouraging great Democrats to run for state seats and supporting them, we can make sure that Virginia’s state legislature reflects its blue electorate. North Carolina will be drawing new district lines and electing a new state legislature, following a federal court ruling that its districts had been unconstitutionally drawn on racial lines. There is a huge opportunity here to capitalize on North Carolina’s shift blue and provide an ally to Democratic Governor Roy Cooper. New Jersey will be electing a new governor, allowing us to replace Chris Christie with a Democrat. It will also be holding General Assembly elections, with all seats up for grabs. While New Jersey’s state legislature is more reliably Democrat, we cannot give up ground. We’ll also continue to alert you to special elections happening around the country to fill vacant seats. 2018 2018 is a big year, with midterms across the country, 36 governor’s races, and nearly 6,000 state legislature seats up for grabs. We are currently developing a flippability model to determine the highest-potential districts. Based on electoral history and importance to 2020 elections, we’re keeping our eye on the following states: Pennsylvania Florida Ohio Michigan Wisconsin Minnesota Colorado Nevada New Mexico Washington Oregon Maine New Hampshire Connecticut New York Georgia Illinois
