Too many school board members don't care about real issues other than getting reelected. They aren't willing to go out on a limb or take a controversial stance, even if it's the right one. In private, they will agree with redistricting suggestions, but won't take any action.
+1 Sandy Evans should do something about the Annandale (and Poe MS) situation.
Staff appears to want FARMS and language issues to be concentrated, presumably under the guise of concentrating relevant resources.
What is the best way to get staff to deal with the Poe MS/Annandale problem?
I thought the "fix" they were considering was moving the AAP center to Poe from the overcrowded Glasgow and use Annandale to east Stuart's capacity issues.
Another "fix" for Annandale -- move out Mason Crest ES to Falls Church HS. I'm sure the loss of yet more single-family homes in the Annandale boundary will help the school.
Are you referring to the CIP language about moving Mason Crest to the Falls Church pyramid for administrative purposes? No kids at Mason Crest go to Annandale now, unless they pupil place for IB. About 75% go to Poe and Falls Church, and the rest are zoned for Glasgow and Stuart.
