Apparently the company was run by her brother Eric Lively who had declared bankruptcy a few years earlier and had no qualifications to be anywhere near a company. They ran it from his loft, he was a blatant alcoholic and weed smoker, and had an affair with one of the employees.

Leslie Sloan got it all buried from the press and probably would have stay buried but people know Blake is not in a powerful untouchable position and they’re coming out.

Interestingly, the beyond the blinds podcast about Blake that ran in 2021 had the same allegations and said they wouldn’t likely come out because people were afraid of Blake.

I mean I think we all knew Preserve was a huge disaster and I'm not surprised that Blake's grifter brother wound up being a terrible manager. I'm sorry those people had that bad experience but also sounds like they were compensated for it.

But also I don't quite understand what any of it has to do with the current lawsuits? Eric Lively is not on trial and the issue here isn't mismanagement of a company. Sure, this is bad press for Blake, whatever, but I just don't get what the connection is here.[/quote]

DP. The people said they were speaking out because they thought the lawsuit was ironic given their experience with preserve. They said when they brought the issues with Eric to Blake she completely shut down the conversation and would hear nothing bad about her brother. It was her company and they ran it out of a studio apartment where the bed was in the actual workspace.[/quote]

For me, the most relevant part about this is that Blake and Ryan were pretty airtight in terms of their power status and people afraid to come out. This is really weakening them and now people are starting to come out. This seems like this could be the tip of the iceberg.

Their PR people used to be masters at burying things, but as we’ve seen, it is not really happening anymore. Something like this coming out is at least a little bit significant to show the sea change.[/quote]
