Both Scooter Braun and Corey Gamble have Atlanta and Jermaine Dupri in common. As any Atlanta insider knows, Dupri is one of the kingmakers in Atl. Both of them were *ahem* involved with Jermaine Dupri and he mentored them as a result. Dupri is how Braun got into party promoting and Dupri made the introductions that helped Braun become a marketing juggernaut. In turn, Braun’s whiteness meant he could enter circles Dupri could not (think Taylor Swift) and extend Dupri’s network that way. Both Gamble and Braun met through Dupri’s networks and Gamble ended up in the Kardashians’ orbit because of introductions Dupri made. Unlike Diddy, who cannibalizes careers, Dupri is savvy as hell about placing his mentees in high places to extend his quiet influence.[/quote]
