It's not only Florida. And it's coming to all red states VA just added itself to the list of the dumbing down of its schools. Youngkin will do this asap. The religious right is taking hold and god help us all particularly women.
Most Americans don’t want porn in schools.
Ah yes, another member of the loud 30% who thinks they’re the majority. In reality, book banning - even for school libraries and Republicans everywhere are going way beyond that - is extremely unpopular among most Americans. [twitter]https://twitter.com/dataprogress/status/1494746982493134856?s=46&t=kf1qYlCXQnKgUhJWEIu2vg[/twitter]
Most people incorrectly assume school libraries aren’t stocking sexually explicit materials.
You don't want your kid reading about life, forbid them to checkout books unless you approve.
Here's the thing. When I went to college, the WORST kids, were those that came from families that wanted to protect their innocent eyes from anything. OMG, it was scary! Today, kids see everything on their phones. Just because you think you are protecting your little snowflakes, they can see whatever they want, whether it's on their phone or their friend's phones. All you can do is expose your kids and talk to them about it. If you don't they will still get the info, just from places you don't want them to. Sex is a part of life. It should be taught early.
Yes, sex s a part of life. And, should be handled early by PARENTS. Not with books bordering on pornography available in school libraries. And, you can claim this isn't happening. But, it s. https://twitter.com/NewEmergingKing/status/1697372266126836158
Oh man. Most teens do not want sex handled by parents. Yikes. Books are a perfect way for kids to safely learn about sex. How could people object to that?
