The people who post about the same situation over and over but never listen to advice.
The posters who regularly reply to threads “You’ve posted this before” because it vaguely resembles another thread from several years ago. (1) it’s probably a different poster, (2) anyone who spends enough time on DCUM to notice these similarities has a much bigger issue anyway.
I frequently recognize posters and their stories! I don’t always call it out, but I have a few times when they tell a story just differently enough to make a point in a new narrative. Yes, I am on DCUM way to much. But I also have a bizarrely good memory, to the point where when I see, say, a BBC documentary about the Plantagenet dynasty, I can remember a specific textbook and a specific area of the page where I’ve read about Eleanor of Aquitaine before. It’s a blessing and a curse. Some of my favorite repeat stories: FIL who “bypasses” [very specific description] the other bathrooms in the house to poop in the master bathroom. The poster who watches “Gone With the Wind” on AMC the day before Thanksgiving while she makes her pies (I wonder if they even air that anymore) The poster who told off her MIL over the Thanksgiving table and has no regrets There are many posters who switch viewpoints as DIL and MIL, but there’s one who repeats stories from different perspectives, and I always recognize her style of writing
I love this poster and how reliably she appears anytime a post includes some combination of the words bathroom, houseguest, and FIL. What I'm not sure about is whether she is the same person whose ILs come stay for weeks and eat tons of "fresh organic berries" and DH keeps taking them shopping on his credit card.
I'm the PP, and I know exactly who you are talking about! And everyone is like, just buy apples/oranges/grapes while they visit, dummy, and the OP of that thread is just like, "They keep eating all the organic berries and expensive snacks that we keep buying!"
