Yep, the ones screwed over, like summer birthdays, will have an argument.
Yeah, youngest always shafted.
Well, if we're going to have Aug-Sept play up to play on grade, I see nothing wrong with May-July joining their grade, even if it's playing down. It's only a few months!
Nope, playing down is not allowed.
Give it time, a season or 2. It'll happen, if you force players up by grade. It brings grade into the conversation. That's why even if you play up AugSept, you don't get to 99%. There's a ton of summer birthdays who will be misaligned (as well as being among the youngest). Nothing is as neat and clean as you think.
It didnt happen for the 30+ years before 2017 with SY
Yes, and 5% or so played misaligned (an average of 1 per team), too, according to parent advocate/former player Sky Eddy. But you'd never admit that.
Maybe on C and D teams where nobody cared
Where's your evidence other than you didn't notice? I have a better theory after hearing the ECNL guy talk. Before ECNL, he was GA and before GA, he was DA and before that, a top tier coach. If they are planning on giving misaligned players opportunties now, based on what makes sense, I bet they did back then.
Why would it matter? You think you know everything and argue about things people who were around pre 2017 tell you about.
I know what I know. I don't know what I don't know, but I share what I find out. And what I share typically contradicts your memory. A few times it has supported your argument but I shared anyway. Most of the time, though, it's shown you are more wrong than right on things.
