Question for Antonia, if she's still around.... You mentioned that you were OOB for L-T. What made you choose that school for your children? It sounds like you're happy with your decision. What are the school's strengths or what do you like best about L-T? Are your children doing well?
Well My children were going to Oyster Adams Bi-Lingual- With my last child I was place on Bed rest so I could not logistically get to Calvert Street everday because of My husbands schedule- I tried my Neighborhood school which is Miner- My son was in Kindergarten- no complaints. Now my daughter was in the 1st grade- In the first month her teacher called out 5 times- I had enough when there was no damn sub-I so happened to drop my daughter off late around 9 and noticed kids in her class were just walking around. This was my problem. I reserached DC schools in the neighborhood that had available space and Ludlow was open. I have no problems at all. Honestly I think Ludlow is a pretty stable dependable public school- I thought about taking them out to a so-called stonger performing school. But I think staying at same school during the early years is just as important- You create childhood best friends-remember teachers and the school knows your child- To me this balances Ludlow. It's not to big and they are stable. Middle school is now my forefront research obligation- We all know those 11-12-13 yrs are really funky.
