Serious question: what is the best way to stop the County Council from adopting this upzoning proposal? After reading about it, for and against, I believe the only ones who benefit will be developers. I am not convinced that this will bring "attainable housing" but rather high-end duplexes, triplexes, and quadplexes that will cause congestion, strain infrastructure, and ruin the character of neighborhoods -- with the current residents paying the price. What can we do to stop this ill-fated plan?
Tell all of your neighbors to email the county in opposition, establish a protective covenant with your neighbors, and start looking for a highly qualified land use attorney to use for crowdfunded lawsuit requesting an immediate injunction of zoning changes pass, until resolution of the lawsuit.
Thanks. We can certainly email the council. The other options take money, which is a far heavier lift. We're the little guys in this scenario, which is why the council and developers think they can steamroll us.
