You may trust the DC government to actually do what they say and be above-the-board, but I have lived in this City for 30+ years and have witnessed how often they change plans, back down, commingle with developers, and give up on projects.

So no, I don’t trust them to actually get the library and community center built if they keep trying for this farce of a plan. And if it does actually get built, neither are likely to be more then a tiny cubby on the first floor of the apartment building.[/quote]

Yes, but maybe I would be more willing to wait and see, or accept a compromise if I had any trust in our leadership or belief that they understood just how detrimental this development would be to the neighborhood and wanted to work on mitigating that neighborhood destruction.[/quote]
