It's all relative however. W-L has more affluent white students than most FCPS schools. But in Arlington's cloistered world, the smugness (among a small group) is typically associated with Yorktown. FCPS parents at wealthy but more diverse schools like McLean and Langley see this attitude in the stands and other community events.

Depending on where you are in Fairfax County, there are typically either more Asians and/or more Hispanics than in APS high schools. Both W-L and Yorktown have more of the affluent white demographic than most schools in Northern Va. Whether or not that translates into arrogant behavior among students and families, has long been a topic of contention. Compared with suburban Philadelphia or Boston schools however, Arlington County and really all of D.C.’s suburbs are extremely diverse. [/quote]

Sure I'm aware there are highly diverse parts of Fairfax county, but the same is true for Arlington. And both counties have less diverse areas too. Isn't Langley mostly affluent white and Asian? [/quote]
