Schools being open on a particular day costs money. Transportation, utilities, salaries. I agree that 1 snow day is ridiculous and is basically never enough, even in years when we get very little actual winter weather. Something always happens. But it's also not as simple as just adding more days on. The funds saved by removing those days have probably already been repurposed to keep something else afloat. [/quote]
