I'm moving from NY to Herndon in January and am in search of a new RE for IVF/unexplain infertility. I had 3 failed IUI's and was planning on moving to IVF next year, but just found out I'm being relocated for work. Although I'm happy about leaving NY, I LOVE my current doctor and clinic, so I'm very upset. Not only that, I'm a federal employee and had to pay OOP for the IUIs and meds. I was planning on changing my insurance in January so I would have IVF coverage, however, the plan with coverage is only accepted in NY/NJ. No other federal plan has federal coverage in the VA area. Fabulous. So, I'll be paying OOP again. Anyway, I was doing some research on RE's in the area and came across Marci Kook, Shady Grove, and Dominion Fertility. Flexibility with monitoring hours is a big deal for me. My current clinic is wonderful - I rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes and I am in an out very quickly. I only saw my doc at my initial consult but he was always available by phone, which I was fine with. I loved all of the nurses. I had a terrible experience at the first clinic I went to. I always saw the doc at every appt but she was HORRIBLE. She was always in a rush and nothing was explained to me. I spent about 6 minutes in her office at my consult and I left feeling more confused than ever. Whenever I asked her a question at my appt, I felt like I was bothering her. So, I'm looking for a doctor that's not in a rush and is willing to explain everything to me when I have questions. I don't have to see him or her at every appt. I am looking for a place where I can be in and out quickly. My new job starts at 830am and I don't know how they are going to be if I come in late occasionally. Which clinics have walk-in hours and which clinics have specific appointment times for monitoring? Also, what are weekend mintirong hours? Thank you?
