Help! My friend isn't registered, but I'd love to get her something nice. The couple is in their 40s and make a good salary, so they have lots of household stuff. She's fun, likes music, going out, dining. It's a shower gift, so I was originally thinking of keeping budget to $50, but if it's a great idea I could go higher (or save idea for wedding).
Why is she being thrown a shower, then? The whole point of a bridal shower is to "shower" the bride with gifts that she will need to set up house--sheets, towels, kitchen gadgets, pots and pans... If the couple already has that stuff, and couldn't even be bothered to register for a few fancy gadgets and picture frames, there's really no point to the shower. Celebrate with engagement parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc.---but a shower makes no sense in this case. I wouldn't go.
