My psychiatrist said it was safe to continue Adderall which TTC and to stop when I got pregnant. Maybe coincidence, but after 6 months TTC we stepped up our game and I stopped the Adderall amongst other things. That month I got pregnant. She also said I could take it occasionally as needed in the 2nd and 3rd tri, but I didn't. Just about to restart it now at 7 months PP. Let me tell you, this year and a half-ish has SUCKED and it is time to get back on meds. BUT. But, this is a terrible game you can't win. Miscarriages are SO common there's no way to prove or disprove ADD meds caused it. Since stimulants MAY be not great for early pregnancy, it can't hurt to stop your meds now. I was hoping on going without meds for 12 months after the baby was born for nursing. But, the impact on my job has gotten too bad to wait any longer. Good luck, OP!
PP quoted above here - wanted to update this thread in case others are in similar circumstances. I restarted a low dose of my Adderall (7.5 or 10 mg) once a day in the morning. I would pump first thing at work, immediately take the Adderall, then pump 6 hours later. About a month later I dropped down to only the afternoon pump, and now am done pumping (have a freezer stash to get to 12 months). My baby has been totally fine - eating, sleeping, and mood exactly the same. I called the LactMed hotline and the nurse or whomever I spoke to was very helpful in helping me figure out a schedule and dosage amounts (10mg, then wait 6 hours to pump). Not exactly a TTC subject, but good for the DCUM archives.
