Let's look at the options: 1) in the middle of a Presidential campaign, a couple that is more investigated and maligned by a segment of the government and media than just about anyone in history goes looking for a contractor who will do unpermitted work, just hoping that no one will find out from searching public records, or 2) the contractor elects not to pull the permits because it'll save him some money and some time. I know which one I think is more likely. [/quote]
