I'm sure the host would also tell you that crime isn't an issue as well.  Except it is.  And there have been many many Zika cases in PR.  They are still studying Zika and don't entirely understand the long term effects or lack thereof.  There are plenty of places to travel and no reason to put yourself at risk for Zika in PR.
