Only had a couple large lecture hall classes my whole time there, even freshman year. School motto is "learn by doing" so there is a strong emphasis on project learning and most students do a co-op during undergrad. But, it is pretty selective -- most selective of the Cal States and, at least when I was there, extremely hard to get in from OOS. Cal States are supposed to give preference to California residents, although I've heard of more OOS kids getting in so it seems they've loosened that up in recent years, probably for the cash flow of OOS tuition.[/quote]
