New parent at the So. Dakota campus and was surprised at how chaotic drop-off seemed this week. Is that typical? Is it because there are quite a few more students there this year? Just due to it being the first week and families lingering? The hallways were jam packed trying to navigate to the classroom, put kids belongings away, etc. Finding a parking spot on Perry St. was crazy too. Maybe it was just me, but I felt exhausted getting in and out of there each morning. Any tips from veteran parents (particularly parking)?
LAMB alum. My advice - do not ever even try to park on Perry Street. If you get a spot, you will be trapped trying to leave. We always parked on Quincy Street and walked 5-6 minutes to the building. Other families parked on the side streets on the other side of 18th. Older children are allowed to be dropped at the door (4th grade and up) but I would imagine more parents are walking them in for the first week of school. The little kids will also get better with the cubbies, putting on slippers soon and their parents can get in/out faster.
