Maybe it differs at less competitive schools.[/quote] There are many things the board is not told. The reason the OP will not get a response is because it is all very secretive. Much of it is called "financial aid". It's easy to justify FA if you make only $250K, because most people on the board of independent schools couldn't imagine living on $250K. The "less" academic schools have less money to give away, so our experience is the opposite. Catholic schools offered less to athletes with high HHI (high being> $100k), independent schools offered more money. My H is a coach and deals with 8th grade recruiting every year for 15 years.
