I think the last I saw was to start in 2020 with a planning period before that and to last something ridiculous like 5 years while the kids have to go to a swing space. But then I recently hear they pushed it back again to start in 2022. It was all in the ranking renovations document that came out earlier this year that I can't put my finger on at the moment. If it starts in 2020 and lasts 5+ years, my second child will only spend one year actually in Eaton and my first will spend her last 2 years in the swing space. Totally ridiculous.
Why? Do you think you need to be renovated just because? Obviously, it doesn't need it half as bad as other schools and givne how high OOB is there shouldn't be overcrowding issues. Totally sane and appropriate to em.
No, the part I find entirely ridiculous, is a 5 year renovation where the children will have to go to school in a swing space. Why in the world should it take 5 years?? That is a long time. And the proposed swing place is not close to the neighborhood, so I have no idea how my family would handle that commute.
The only way construction could take 5 years would be if DC goes with a totally unqualified crony 8a contractor, which, if Bowser is still mayor, could definitely happen.
