No, they don't. They cannot start tryouts for winter and spring sports until the previous season has ended so there is an extremely short period between those seasons. Like a week.[/quote]

That absolutely is not true. My daughter plays Spring and has never had leagues or informal practices for school.  For some reason Fall sports get so much time for their try-outs, practices, and the other seasons do not.  It will only get worse next year when everything shifts back one week early.  Spring sports will have to begin in mid February (it started Feb 27th last year) and we all know what the weather is like then.   Virginia does have this problem because they wait until after Labor Day to start school.  [/quote]

I love it when people say something is inaccurate for the whole county based on their one child...but anyways practice dates are set by the state so they will not change based on mcps s new start date.[/quote]
