I think the chairs are much too dark for the space.  We don't have a kitchen big enough to eat in so this is our prime dining spot.  Everything I've seen has shown this table paired with sand colored upholstered chairs which look lovely but I have two children.

Our color scheme for the room looks like this but our room is much much smaller:
