Thinking of taking my spouse to Montreal in the fall - should I wait until November and we can ski at Tremblant? Or should we just enjoy fall and everything else in Montreal in October? The trip has to before it gets too cold.
It's iffy year to year as far as if it's worth going in the first few weeks of opening - the resort doesn't usually open until the end of Nov. and in general, unless there's been a lot of snow, you'll be limited on runs. There's plenty to do in Montreal proper (or even surrounding areas). Go earlier in the fall and check out the colours. It's a great city for food and poking around in, and there's usually some festival or other going on : http://www.montreal.com/tourism/festivals/. As you would drive to Tremblant, for about an extra 40 min of driving, you could check out the National Capital region (Ottawa). Also beautiful in the fall.
