These are great suggestions but maybe not for a weekend?  Nantucket, the Vineyard and Block Island take a while to get to.

For another city option, Boston would be lovely that time of year. Or for another Canadian option, Montreal.  I think the baby might need a passport though? [/quote]

There are some direct flights to the Islands but some may be seasonal. There are plenty of small planes (e.g., Cape Air) that fly there regularly from Boston but not sure I would want to take a baby on one of those - they are super loud and probably not very car seat friendly (the seats are mostly like jump seats and much smaller than normal plane seats).[/quote]
