OP here. I'm not a hater at all. I really am curious. Like I said, I've been off all week. Went to the movies, got a massage, did lunch w/friends, ran errands. SURE, I'd love another week of, but I truly wonder how days are spent. NOW, I don't love my job so much, that I'd run back. BUT, if I don't I hit the lottery for $200 million, then I'd find more stuff to do, believe me!
I'm a SAHM with 2 little ones (4 and 6 mo), so not the demographic you are asking. But there are a fair number of SAHMs in my neighborhood who fit that description. They are busy. Many do volunteer work of one kind or another (church, charities or in their children's school). They get the kids off to school, pick them up, clean, shop, pick up dry cleaning, do laundry, cook, take the dog to the vet, visit elderly relatives, shuttle kids to activities, work in the yard, pursue hobbies (several are not-well-paid writers). Some are studying toward degrees in preparation to reenter the workforce. I know I will reenter the workforce in some capacity when the kids are in school, but I'm glad that I won't be forced to do work I don't like and will get to spend summers with my kids (unless circumstances drastically change, which of course is always possible).
