We stayed in the Marais with a 6-month old and 5 year old last Fall and found the neighborhood/area perfect with kids. The part where we stayed seemed to have many families with young kids, so we saw kids everywhere - bars, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, etc. We rented through VRBO (washing machine, dishwasher, and crib included) and hired a driver from CDG who had a booster and Infant Car Seat (which is normal, maybe? Another time we called for a a taxi and they had multiple car seats available.) Every few blocks there is a playground, so my 5-year old was able to stop and play whenever he got tired of walking around. Favorite playgrounds included Square du Temple and Place des Vosges, but there were so many everywhere, it was great! We liked the Marche des Enfants Rouge (market,) it was small enough that we were able to develop some familiarity with the vendors. And my 5-year old was able to score some free rolls/chouquettes just for saying "Bonjour" and "Merci." Also, make sure you go to the Centre Pompidou, in addition to the fun of riding "outside" escalators, they always have an exhibit for kids on the first floor. When we went, we designed and created Sand Castles. So interactive and interesting. (Also, go to the top to the Georges restaurant for a drink/ice cream and for the most amazing views of the city.) Most restaurants were fine with kids, just don't expect any high chairs. My kids are relatively well-behaved when we go out to eat, so I wasn't too worried about this. Overall, I found Paris to be super kid-friendly and can't wait to take the kids back soon. Enjoy your trip!
