We have a different take.  Our son was at Madlax and it was fine for awhile.  But we decided to leave for a different club for reasons I won't elaborate on.  We were very polite about it, but got a very rude email and phone call from him.  We knew that would happen because we had other friends who had gotten similar treatment.  We left when our contract had been completed, but had to fight to not have our credit card charged for an extra amount.

We actually switched clubs one more time later on for different reasons.  When we left the 2nd club, all we got was a "thank you ... we'd love to have you back" response.  Even if the parents mentioned in the Deadspin article didn't communicate well with the guy, I don't see how anyone can defend that stuff he wrote (and we received similar words).

Businesses should not attack clients if they decide to take their money elsewhere.  I'm glad we didn't give him more money and didn't have to sheepishly explain any more to others why we played for that club.  When I look back on it, letting our kid play for them sent a wrong message to our son.[/quote]
