It took me about two months, but I did my entire house. My husband got inspired and did the garage by himself. We actually have empty shelves in our garage! Our house was very tidy before, but we had closets crammed full of stuff. I lost track of how many bags we took to Goodwill or threw away. This week, I collected another bag to take to Goodwill. I also feel less inclined to buy new things. I went to Target the other day and only bought the one thing I went in for (which is unprecedented). I was watching CNBC, and they were talking about sales being down at various stores, and I wondered whether -- if not the result of Kon Mari specifically -- people are just tired of being overwhelmed by stuff. Can't recommend it enough.
This is exactly how I feel as well! I also have so much more time now on my hands because I'm not spending my time buying stuff, storing stuff, and wrangling stuff. Stuff takes up a lot of physical and mental space and I didn't realize this until I simplified.
