New PP -- I have had this twice in cycles where I ovulated 2 weeks later than I expected to. So my body geared up to ovulate at the usual time, didn't, then did it again 2 weeks later and I had cramping, bloating, sore breasts, etc. This is where temping really comes in handy to tell you what's going on. Without the temping I would have thought I was pregnant but with a negative test. With the temping I could tell I hadn't ovulated yet. Add OPK strips to that and I could see when I was about to ovulate for real. As it happens I got pregnant in both of those cycles after timing the deed for the later ovulation, but both were miscarriages.
If I temp my husband won't sleep with me. So temping = no sex. No sex = guaranteed bfn.
Ok. So then recognize you are sacrificing certainty, which is a valid choice, but then you have to spend a lot more time guessing. If that's less stressful or objectionable then temping, then it's the right choice. I mentioned this in your other thread but you don't have to temp in bed. People say you do but you don't (unless you find you don't get accurate results if you don't). You could give it a try temping in the bathroom and he won't even know you are temping. Surely your husband won't refuse to sleep with you because you get up for 3 minutes to pee around the same time every day. If he does, you have bigger issues.
Temping still wouldn't provide me with certainty. There was one time I temped and my temp was up X days past ovulation and I still wasn't pregnant. I can't remember how many days but the number they say means you're pregnant. Temping did help me identify that I ovulate between days 17-20. Regardless I'm having an egg transfer and doubt I can temp during that. So temping is out for me unless I put off the egg transfer. I also figure when I have a child I'll be up early in the morning for years. Why wake up early on the weekends to temp now?? Doesn't seem worth it to me.
