We have a great, diverse community, but like most things, it isn't perfect.  Assuming FCPS does not eliminate immersion across the board, the French cohorts are gradually being phased out, and replaced by Spanish ones.  The French program is 1-way immersion, and the Spanish is 2-way where ideally the number of English and Spanish native speakers are equal.  The oldest Spanish immersion classes are second grade.  My kids have had new Students enter the program in both 1st and 2nd grades.  There is no open lottery for the Spanish program unlike the French one that draws kids from different parts of the county.[/quote]Wow! So helpful. Thanks. If you mean a kid that moved inbounds with immersion already, then i think he/she could get in if there is room. it is a title one school and classes are capped at 24, and a wait list.  How long is the wait list?  I don't know.[/quote]
