I started out in a specific area of marketing a very specific thing, gained experience at one company, then moved to better company where they were looking for someone with that particular experience. Probably worked into that title quicker than normal. I agree though, not the norm. I have a lot of fellow classmates also doing quite well, and quite a few doing not so great. I think it all depends on the person and how much they're willing to look for the right opportunities. Some graduate and keep working their shitty job making $12 an hour. Some strive for better.
