What kind of stats would an Out of State student need to get into Texas A&M?
OP it's a fairly tough school to get into even as a resident. Not UT tough, but tough nonetheless. My step-daughter who grew up and still lives in Texas, attended A&M. She had solid HS grades, High B average, excellent ACT scores. To get in to A&M she had to actually transfer in from another university where she earned nearly all A's. She LOVED her A&M experience and there is a lot of school pride. She just graduated, Suma Cum Laude! Had a job lined up before she walked :) Now our DD who is a Junior is also eyeing A&M, but she will be an out of state student just like yours. I think she'll have to go the same route, with transferring in. Or maybe legacy will help her. I think another thing that will help is that according to Naviance, NO ONE from our DD's HS has applied to A&M in a very long time (no shock there as we are in Bethesda), which usually helps your chances of getting in to a particular school.
