So I just went to my doctor to get a refill of Vyvanse. I was diagnosed severely ADHD in 6th grade and have been on medication ever since, which has helped a lot. Anyway, i havent been able to get Vyvanse for a long time, because I was moving and a lot of things were up in the air. I went in today to get a doctor to write a refill and they measured my blood pressure and immediately told me it was quite high. I have always ever been told I have very low blood pressure. So the doctor came in and right away orders an EKG. I get blood drawn and an EKG. They see the result and say, "Lets test your blood pressure again." They did, and this time they said it was normal. I didnt want to argue because Vyvanse is so controlled nowadays that it's like procuring black tar heroin- I was just like, "Ok, cool" cause I wanted my script. They gave it to me and I left and am having it filled but now I'm worried. I've been under an EXTREME amount of stress lately (another reason I didnt take vyvanse over the past few months, because until the situation I was in changed, I could feel it wasnt healthy) and I'm afraid that that may have driven up my blood pressure and now even though I'm out of the situation I have residual high blood pressure. At the same time, I'm worried about my vyvanse. It certainly does make my heart beat faster and I can feel it, but I am severely ADHD, so not taking it means I pretty much accomplish nothing and/or everything takes 50 times as long. Does anyone know what it might mean to have a doctor order an EKG? I know nothing about high blood pressure but like I said I didnt want to ask too many questions. Is it very serious if my vyvanse is causing this? I am only 27 so I dont want to have long term heart issues from my meds. Thanks.
