DS goes to a RE school and it is a great fit for him personality-wise. Debating whether we should send him to public school or if we can find a private school with similar teaching philosophy. What did you do?
We did RE and then public. It was fine. K was a a bit of a tough transition. It is very regimented, that said I hear the transition is tough for most kids. DS is in 1st now and is really enjoying it. He is in the highest reading group so he has more flexibility in terms of what he reads about and what he gets to write about. Not the same as RE but the transition to public can work. DS goes to an immersion school so I think he moves around a bit more than kids in traditional schools with the same teacher for most of the day. Not sure if that helps.
