If it wasn't directly from someone who actually is part of the admissions process (teacher or AART etc.) then it's parental hearsay and nothing more. Please don't stress over this, OP, and if your child is doing tutoring or classes and it's helping your child here and now, please [i]don't[/i] stop doing it because of some mythical rumor that it might hurt AAP admission. It won't. Even if the teacher knows about it. The teacher spends many, many more hours each week around your child than a Kumon tutor or other tutor spends with your child, so the teacher knows whether or not your child will be able to do AAP work, regardless of whether your child's doing any of these programs.
