Handed out tracts [like Moonies] etc and left mainstream and counterculture [hippie] society. A person I knew joined that movement and they did refer to themselves as Jesus freaks. In today's context, that term is generally used as a slur. The argument you are making in my opinion is similar to the "well that group uses the n-word as a familiar term and in art and music so what is wrong with me using it?" argument. J.F. and its usage has evolve significantly in the past 50 years and not in a good way.[/quote]
