So...why are buttered noodles and Mac and cheese so vilified on here? I recently just buttered up some noodles and added some salt and pepper, Serbs with a side of green beans for my young toddler. I melted a slice of provolone in the microwave over some cooked macaroni noodles just to try it out and...yum. (Not sure DS is ready for the melty and stretchy cheese yet, so I need to work on that one). Anyway-I'm thinking there's some grains, fats, dairy, plus the side of veggies...why do people get so up in arms-I've literally read things like "My child has never had buttered noodles". Now, I get chicken nuggets, and the orange Mac and cheese out of a box (that my mom fed me...ha!) and why they do not conform to DCUM standards, and I also get it if there are no vegetables included in the meal. But please enlighten me as to why buttered noodles or noodles with a nice cheese are a bad choice please!
