We had an initial consultation with another orthodontist who seemed to be very rushed during the consultation, and who mostly talked about pulling teeth immediately (DD was only eight!) but McGrath didn't want to start out yanking teeth, was more incremental and took a lot more time to sit down and explain things to us during that initial consultation, though DD wasn't even a patient yet.

Whatever you do, go for initial free consultations with several orthodontists so you can compare them. They all do free consultations. You will get a good feel for the orthodontist himself, the staff and the overall office vibe. Even if you think you love the first one you visit, see at least one or two more .[/quote]
