Well, as an outsider who is closely observing a friend navigating the Match.com world -- as in, hearing it play-by-play --- it seems clear that an over-35 woman is a "catch" if she is 1. thin 2. blonde. very blonde. and 3. has a well-paid job that is decently impressive on the East Coast. If you have the above features, and agree to sex w/in a month or so, I have observed that it is perfectly acceptable to -also- be: 1. bored 2. antagonistic 3. insulting 4. borderline alcoholic 5. outwardly unstable ..... and still attract and keep guys. This has been a surprising and sobering lesson on What Guys ACTUALLY Want.
the thin premium is so high only because the overall population is so fucking fat these days. If it was 1950, the 'perfectly acceptable' issues that you list would be much less tolerated. The blonde thing is overrated. I personally have no time for blondes. Most blondes have thin hair and I just cannot date a woman that has thin hair. Thick dark locks, preferably wavy/curly - yes. I would substitute #3 with 'interesting job'. i.e. a 35 year old curator or gallery director is way more attractive than a 35 year old junior partner or 'of counsel' ball breaking big law attorney.
