I like to sit cross legged on it at night and I find that very comfortable for lounging. The couch is about four to five years old now. The tight back makes occasional creaking noises. The cushions I sit on have gotten pretty soft. But I bought it because-- I knew the tight back was a pretty clean/simple/not messy look for me, I wanted a relatively shallow couch (not the super deep lounging only kind) and my dear husband required a sectional with a corner for him to curl up in (pre kids).
