I would be annoyed if I had to move my cans half way down the street for a month.  It's their right to do it, but luckily my neighbors are considerate.

Here's an attempt at a drawing to kind of explain what I mean -- park cars for longer term in-between houses so they aren't blocking more regular traffic, trash pickup, leaf pickup, etc.  Obviously this doesn't work in all neighborhoods but it seems to work in our's.
