This is very disturbing.  A group of 10 young men, wearing hoodies and ski masks according to the police alert, tried to rob someone at knifepoint.  This is a normally safe area, but violent crime seems to be rising all along Wisconsin Ave.  Now it's reaching deeper into residential areas.  The large group of muggers is something very new and unsettling.  It's as if they believed that they could act with impunity.  I live in AU Park and seldom see police patrols, so perhaps they are right.  Between the recent Wilson gun incident, the flash mob stuff in Georgetown and what seems to be an increasing occurrence of muggings, it feels like things are definitely slipping in  Upper NW.  I hope that Bowser and the MPD get on top of this.[/quote]
