My car has very bad blind spots.  I'm not on my phone, in a rush, on the radio and my kid is chilling in the back.  I simply cannot see out of the sides and part of the back windows due to the design of the car and car seats.   You need to pay attention and be hyper-aware, especially if you are weaving in/out of traffic.  And, yes, a new car with all the safety features would be great, but we cannot afford one right now.[/quote]

Excuse me, but you could have picked another one. I have a Toyota corolla and a Mazda 5, none of which are fancy, but with decent visibility. Visibility should be a priority to any car buyer.
