Usually the IUI is 36 hours after the trigger. I never did them at Shady Grove, but at CFA, my partner would go into the clinic in the morning, we'd go get breakfast together, and then I'd go back for the insemination. Just tell them that you're undergoing a minor procedure timed to your menstrual cycle that will help you have children. No one has to know the specifics.
This is a joke right
Nope, I was serious. This will shut everyone up. If you're a partnered-up woman of child-bearing age, unless you've said you're going to live child free, there's an unspoken assumption that, gay or straight, you might want to have a baby with your partner before your fallopian tubes turn to dust and blow away. Who is actually going to follow up to that, when you matter-of-factly say: I'm having a minor medical procedure timed to my menstrual cycle? You could skip the "that will help me have children" part. But no one, unless they're a medical professional curious about the actual procedure, is going to ask a follow up question about your period. Guaranteed conversation stopper. Not even nosy family will hound a woman who brings up her period. It's an immediate shut down of further intrusive questions, I promise.
