This morning there were distinct scratchy kind of metallic sounds from my 2nd floor laundry room, which was really a little creepy, but even when I stood in the doorway I could hear the noises but didn't see anything. Then it stopped. I just put some laundry in and it started again. Has anyone ever heard of an animal crawling up the venting hose from the dryer and getting stuck in there? Yuck!
If it was an animal--mouse, squirrel, etc. it may not be in the venting hose but got the insulation around it around it. Animals can definitely crawl into vents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsSy6geEKq8 You can make or buy a cover for outside vents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2k5vvrw0Nk
