OP, I'm a little confused. Are you contemplating switching from your current federal coverage to coverage with your Maryland county employer? FYI, state employee health plans are different from county employee health plans. Most Maryland counties self-insure so they are not required to cover IVF. If you are contemplating switching from the federal plan to your county employer plan, you should check with your county employer's human resources office about the IVF benefits that are included.
Yes, I am considering switching from current federal coverage thru my DH to coverage with my Maryland employer. I have checked with my human resources office but have been given the run around. My RE confirmed that previous patients employed by my county had better coverage thru Cigna than I do with Kaiser.
You should request a plan booklet from the HR or benefits office. I don't know which county you work for, but I found the Montgomery County employee benefits site here http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/ohr/benefits/egi/benefit.html and the plan booklets are available. You should, of course, get the 2016 booklets to see what's covered. And don't just get a plan summary, get the plan booklet which lists all of the coverages in the plan.
