I haven't yet tried it, but near Franklins on the other side of Route 1 there's supposed to be a really nice Senegelese place, Chez Dior.

Further up route 1 in College Park, a lot of people like Fishnet.   A bit pricy and not much ambiance but delicious!

Out 202 near the Wegman's shopping center there's a BBQ place that's pretty good.   KBQ BBQ.  Again, quite casual.

If you are willing to drive further way but don't want to head into DC, I absolutely love Namaste in Crofton!
