You know what's interesting is that I actually didn't realize the TPES magnet program was application-based.  I had heard (assumed?) that kids would all be tested and the kids who qualified would be informed.  I suppose I'll never know whether my kid would have made it in, but those statistics make me feel a little better about not having known it was an option.  I have also heard a very small number of kids from other schools are accepted.  [/quote]
