My DS just started a new preschool, and I am beyond frustrated with the drop-off and pick-up situation.  My DS is doing fantastic at the school, loves it, and has no trouble separating when I drop him off.  It's not a matter of him -- it's a matter of the logistics and the number of people and cars!  There are a TON of people there all at the same time, and the parking lot is tiny, so most people are forced to park on the adjacent streets.  I'm 5 months pregnant and end up having to walk 2-3 blocks uphill with my 3 year old each morning.  There are cars everywhere, and it feels totally chaotic.  On top of that, it adds a good 10-15 minutes to "commute" time because it takes so long for him to walk.  I already have a fairly long commute before and after drop-off, so this is frustrating.

At pick-up, it's the same business, except that in addition to the parking nightmare, they way they release kids is all together (for all the same level classes) and involves a big crowd of disorganized parents standing around.

I guess the other parents are used to this because no one seems particularly upset by this except for me.  I'm not trying to be a nit-picker, but everything else about the school is so well planned, organized, and thoughtful, and this is just a total mess.  Does anyone have experience with this type of thing?  Do I just suck it up?  Should I mention my frustration to the teachers or director?  I'm not asking for special circumstances and know everyone has to deal with the same situation, but I'd love to help them explore a better system if there's any option for improving on the very messy one they currently have![/quote]
